I had such a normal day today. I was even able to take short stairs at a normal pace, without breaks and without immediate consequences. Same for standing up and exiting the bus. I started having good days like that again in November but it had been a while, and since that horrible episode I wasn't sure it was gonna happen again anytime soon. It's just. So strange. 2 weeks ago I was so weak I could barely talk, barely walk, and at times unable to drink or use my phone. And today I walked and did a whole shift that involved a lot of thinking and talking, and then I carried a small bag of groceries and did the dishes. This was unthinkable 10 days ago. And it might be impossible tomorrow. Actually I might pay for today tomorrow, I won't know until I wake up too weak to turn in my bed, or suddenly in the middle of the day I become unable to hold my neck and my torso upright. This illness is making life so absurd. I can't project myself more than the current day bc I can never predict my physical state. Even within the day, I've been having these sudden onset episodes more regularly. It's just. So jarring. And ngl. Scary. Especially since the triggers are so unclear. Anyway. That was the disabled musings of the day.

Just saw another of your pieces reposted on Pinterest & had to ask: what's the story about Vasco waking up to Machete being covered in blood, and running him a bath while Machete whimpers about being disgusting??? I'm guessing chronic nosebleeds or something??

Nosebleeds, yes. He doesn't get them all the time and most are a minor hindrance, but occasionally stars align and he gets one that goes on and on endlessly with dramatic results. Usually these occur during the night and have the chance to get so bad because he isn't awake to notice them early enough.

It's a humiliating thing to wake up to, especially if you're managed to unintentionally bleed all over your partner, ruining the moment and inconveniencing him. Machete is self-conscious as is and resents the numerous ways his body continues to betray him.

A fun fact he learned a couple days later is that in an average human’s mouth there’s about 6 billion types of bacteria and several of those types are deadly if not treated properly at a hospital.

And Danny was very much not an average human.

Let’s just say he started to sweat bullets when he found a frontline article about the death of the clown prince.

Suddenly that feeling of someone watching him wasn’t being written off as paranoia.

so i do think it's very interesting how, at least from what i've observed, people see/depict worst logan as kind of different from the x men logan in terms of their propensity for violence, or rather how this violence is released. i think it has to do with a couple of things:

as many have pointed out, wade is the only one who has ever been able to match him in a fight. so it makes sense that people would headcanon their relationship as involving fights on the regular. but also;

most of what we see from him in the movie is him fighting, and so we assume that he has a tendency towards it, especially since the past he's trying to escape from is exactly that: him being violent towards others, including those who don't deserve it. i think this has definitely subconsciously shaped some people's perception of him in some way.

but i think it's good to remember that what we are shown isn't proportionate to who he is, because the movie necessarily can't develop his character much outside of the plot. i don't think worst logan and x-men logan are different at all in the sense of x-men logan being "gentler", because not only have we just not had the chance to see worst logan act otherwise, but x-men logan also has this same animalistic violence in him. we can see how quickly he unleashes himself in the movies when the situation calls for it, and even when he's doing it to protect, there's still that rage underneath it all.

worst logan is violent towards wade because 1. he's projecting, and 2. wade can take it. but also it's a symptom of something else that he hasn't worked through, possibly decades of trauma he hasn't worked through. i'm working on a fic that explores this rn, but my headcanon is that his post-x-men rampage was a sort of addiction for him because of the release it gave him, which he then replaced with getting shitfaced, and finding someone who could take him in a fight (wade) could be a reversion to the former addiction if he doesn't work on it. (i think that especially with superhero movies, it's so easy to brush off violence as just another normal thing, but realistically, a failure to unpack all that baggage could escalate his problems into something way worse.)

so imo i think worst logan is practically the same, if not very similar, to x-men logan, just that he's a variant that was dealt the worst card, but we interpret his character differently because all we're shown is what he became because of it. we all know logan is gentle with his lovers, and i think that unless wade shows that he enjoys it, logan would not be violent towards him just because wade can take it. just because you can doesn't mean you should, and i think he of all people would understand that

I used to get an arguments on facebook and it bit me in the ass enormously because it turns out that when you get an arguments on facebook habitually, you'll be interacting with a lot of other people who get an arguments on facebook habitually, and most of these people are deeply unpleasant and they will be super mean to you in really fucked up ways. so for a couple of years I just sort of dropped off ever interacting with anyone who said things that I did not agree with. I would just scroll past stuff or I would get upset about it privately and move on. I did not ever engage. and the last couple of weeks I've started being able to say things in response to things I don't agree with in ways that I feel lay out what my perspective is but do not get overly invested in "winning" or "proving" anything -- I will say my piece generally for the benefit of other people who might be reading the conversation and need to hear what I have to say. and then I will turn notifications off and go do something else.

Sometimes I just want someone to actually care about me as a person. I want someone to actually listen and care about my hyper-fixations when I ramble about them. I want someone to hold me and work me through my BPD episodes, no matter how irrational or out of the blue they may seem.

I just want someone to observe certain mannerisms of mine, to notice the little things about me, to take the time to understand the things that most people overlook.

I know I’m not mentally healthy.

But does that seriously mean I’m not worthy of being loved?
